SafeScope (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile applications (“Apps”). Please read this policy carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following data about you:

- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

- Facial Recognition Data: Images and biometric data captured through our Apps for security and identification purposes.
- Face Data Processing: Our app uses face data solely for real-time analysis purposes. Face data is processed locally on your device and is not stored, shared, or retained after processing. We do not collect or save any facial data on our servers.
1.1 Location Information (Including Background Location Access)
SafeScope may collect and process location information, including foreground and background location data, to support core security and operational features of the application.
Background location access is used strictly for internal security and operational purposes, such as:
- Continuous location verification for authorized personnel during active duty or investigation workflows
- Ensuring compliance with internal safety, access control, and monitoring requirements
- Supporting real-time incident response and security validation even when the app is not actively open
SafeScope does not use background location data for advertising, analytics unrelated to security, profiling, or tracking users for commercial purposes.
Location data is collected only with the user’s explicit consent and only while the user is authorized and logged into the application.
2. Face Profile Creation & Matching
SafeScope allows users to upload images for the purpose of identifying individuals or matching those images with previously uploaded photos. This feature is designed for security, investigative, and verification use cases.
Face profiles are created based on the content of the uploaded image and may be matched against other previously uploaded images to detect similarities or duplicates. These profiles do not represent app users and are not used for personalized advertising or tracking.
Face data is used solely within the scope of the app’s functionality and is not retained beyond its intended purpose. No biometric templates are stored or shared externally.
Users are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents before uploading any personal images.
We do not use this data to track users or build personal histories beyond the immediate functional purpose of image verification and matching.
2.1 Internal Use Only
SafeScope is designed for internal access control and investigation workflows only. It is used exclusively by authorized personnel within our organization. The app is not publicly distributed for consumer use and does not access or collect public data sources.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect in the following ways:
- To Provide and Maintain Our Services: Including facilitating security monitoring and incident reporting.
- To Improve Our Services: Understanding how users interact with our Apps to enhance user experience.
- For Communication: Sending updates, security alerts, and support messages.
- To Comply with Legal Obligations: Responding to legal requests and preventing harm.
3.1 Prominent Disclosure and User Consent for Background Location
SafeScope provides a clear and prominent in-app disclosure explaining why background location access is required before requesting permission.
Before enabling background location access, users are explicitly informed that:
- The app collects location data even when the app is closed or not in active use
- Background location access is necessary for continuous security monitoring and operational integrity
- Location data is used only for internal security workflows
- Location data is not sold, shared for advertising, or used for user profiling
Users must affirmatively consent to background location access through the Android permission system.
If a user declines or revokes this permission, background location–dependent features may be limited or disabled.
Users may withdraw consent at any time through their device settings without penalty beyond feature limitations.
4. Facial Recognition and Profile Matching
SafeScope enables authorized users to upload third-party images for the purpose of matching and verifying individuals within a controlled environment. This feature is used solely for internal access control and investigative workflows.
Facial recognition is performed in real-time, and no biometric templates, facial feature data, or user-uploaded images are stored on any server. All processing is temporary and does not persist beyond the session in which the image is analyzed.
SafeScope does not associate uploaded data with individual users of the app and does not use this functionality for advertising, personalization, or user tracking of any kind.
5. Internal Use and No Public Data Collection
SafeScope is built exclusively for use within our organization for internal access control and verification. It is not intended for public-facing applications or general consumer use.
The app does not collect, access, or scrape any data from public sources or third-party databases. All image data is uploaded directly by authorized internal users. SafeScope does not store or retain any personally identifiable information (PII). All usage is performed securely and privately in alignment with internal organizational policies.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share your information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud storage providers.
- Legal Authorities: When required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
6.1 Location Data Sharing Limitation
SafeScope does not share background location data with third parties except where strictly necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Support essential infrastructure services required for secure operation (such as encrypted cloud services)
All location data access is governed by internal access controls and limited to authorized personnel only.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption: Data is stored on enterprise database servers with military-level encryption located in the U.S.

Users may revoke background location access at any time through their device settings. Revoking this permission will not affect account ownership but may limit security-related functionality that depends on continuous location verification.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Apps are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal data from a user under the age of 18, we will delete such information from our records.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
